Daily Exhibitions

Preface Hall

Entering the Preface, the first thing you see is a big-eyed alien. He has a very cute and funny name–“GULU which means blinking eyes. And then GULU will prepare you a fantastic travel around the Childrens Museum.

In the preface hall, we can also see a sound trumpet and a travel compass.

Enter the Cabin

The travel begins. Our first stop is a scientific research ship that is sailing. Hey, kids. Are you ready for our big adventure?

Display of Ship Models

This section shows us the way of the Chinese nation in the sea. We display four famous ships of ancient China, representative modern ships and various of tools needed for sea voyage.

Snow Dragon Icebreaker

In the end of the world South Pole and North Pole, the weather is raging throughout the year. How can we reach there and have scientific investigations? The answer is icebreaker. The painting on the wall is the Chinese icebreaker Snow Dragon. Snow Dragon witnessed the Chinese polar expedition.

Captain Cabin

The captain cabin is the core part of a ship. Kids can enter the simulated cockpit to be a captain and experience how to drive the ship.

Waterspout

The sea tornado is a highly destructive maritime climate on the ocean. It can destroy everything when happened. Tornado formation and duration are not long but its destructive power is quite strong. Here is a regular presentation of a sea tornado demonstration every day.Lets feel the power of the tornado together.

The Wave-making Machine

In this interactive exhibition, kids can shake the handle to make waves. The faster the shaking speed, the more turbulent the waves are, until the ship are capsized and sink to the sea.

Puzzle Wall

The puzzle wall include three patterns, namely, marine life, lighthouse and navigator. Let us work together to finish the whole patterns.

Deep into the Ocean

This is deep into the sea exhibition area. The ocean is not only big but also very deep, and there are many “aborigines” live in it. Do you have the interest to explore with Gulu?

The Deep Sea Family

In vast and endless ocean, there live all kinds of creatures. How many creatures are living in the sea? It's still a mystery.

Submersible

For a long time, people have been trying to explore the deep sea which is a fascinating and mysteries unknown area. The invention of modern submarines enables humans to reach the deepest part of the ocean. The mini type submersible rainbow fish we have seen has simulated the latest submersible produced by China. The inside of the submersible can hold 7-10 kids. Parents, please take care of your children.

Travel in Space

Through the sea view stairs, we are arriving in the first exhibition area of the second floor--the outer space. The outer space is the space beyond the earth’s atmosphere. There are a lot of other things in space waiting for us to explore.

Look at the Space

The earth is a big round ball that keeps moving. It is rotating while simultaneously revolving around the sun uninterrupted. The neighbors of earth are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. We called them eight planets of the solar system. Except these eight planets, there are plenty of planets in space waiting for us to explore.

Gifts from Outer Space

In the windows of this wall, there are four gifts from outer space. They are called “meteorites”. Meteorites were once part of a certain planet. They traveled in space and landed on the earth’s surface for various reasons.

One Day of the Astronaut

The astronauts take the human dream to fly into the space by manned spacecraft, not only to withstand heavy pressure, weight loss, cold and other tests, but also to carry out a variety of space tests and research. How did they spend their day in the space station? You can look through this contrast chart and find your own answer.

Cosmic Scale

There are four scales. You can weigh yourselves. The weight showed in these four scales are completely different. Why is that? As the gravity of each planet is different, our weight changes according to different gravities. Let’s try it out on earth, on the moon, on Saturn and Jupiter. Which planet is the lightest and why?

Return to Earth

The Launch Show

The starry sky is so colorful. Exploring it has always been the dream of man kind. Do you know when humans fly into space? Do you want to travel through space in a spaceship and explore the infinite universe? The big guy in front of you is the second engine of the Changzheng-4 rocket. This will be the theme show of rocket launch on time. Welcome to watch it.

Spaceship

The space shuttle is the world’s first reusable spacecraft that is able to travel between space and ground. As a space equipment with many functions, it can be like a carrier rocket to send all kinds of spacecrafts into space, and like manned spacecraft to orbit around the earth. It also can conduct feet-up landings on the ground as planes do.

This is a model of space shuttle “Discovery”. It is the third space shuttle to actually carry out space missions at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Its first flight was on August 30, 1984.It retired on March 9, 2011 after completing its mission.

Get Rid of Gravitation

The first step to send a spacecraft into space by rocket is to get rid of the gravity of Earth and then get into low earth orbit. Satellites of various uses such as the land reconnaissance, meteorological resource and mobile communication, which are running in low earth orbit, play a huge role in human life.

LM Rocket Family

China’s Long March rockets have developed into a large family since theRed-East-1rocket was successfully put into orbit by the Long March 1 rocket on April 24, 1970.

The First Generation of Recoverable Satellites Returned to the Capsule

This big black “pan”, which actually is the “recovery capsule” of our country’s first-generation return satellite, is a real stuff which has been in space for three days.

The camera put into the Zigzag grooves when the satellite was in orbit took many photographs for surveying and mapping. Having returned from space, the camera and the films were taken away by the scientists for research.

Cities and Me

Home is the best place in the world. This area is the batch display area that is specially designed for pre schoolers. In this exhibition area the kids can travel with Gulu and experience several friend cities of Shanghai.

Reading Area to CaoYing’s Memory

The parent-child reading area is established to commemorate the famous translator CaoYing (Mr. Sheng Junfeng).

Underground World

Underground World is a mining theme activity experience space for children. As long as you match the requirement of the activity, you can make an appointment through WeChat.

Dome Theater

Dome Theater is a semi-circular theater where you can quietly sit in your chair, tilt your head up, watch movies, and feel the wonders of the light and shadow world.
